Zone: 2 – Hidden Talents!

People in this zone are well liked and easy to be around. On the surface they don’t appear to have much stress and cause very little stress to others.

They are genuinely nice people, thoughtful, quite happy with life  and very peaceful. Their pace of life is not slow, but it's not very quick either!

In the race of life they are the marathon runners - not the sprinters. The tortoise that wins, never the hare that loses. They are pragmatic, organised and in control. Their keyword is - consistency!

But because of this calm nature, they never really hit top speeds in life. Caution is good, but over-caution is not.

To use a metaphor, if those in this zone were an aeroplane, they’d be very close to taking off the runway...but they're just not hitting the right speeds to get off the ground!

Technically they’re not opening the throttle (pressing the accelerater to the floor) hard enough to hit the right speeds to take off...

A plane cannot leave the runway on anything but FULL SPEED.

After it's off the ground it can settle down, cruise, and pull back on the throttle at a "cruising altitude".

Here's the thing: Sometimes you have to go all out and risk everything you have (all your power) to get what you want, and after you're flying, you can chill.

It's the BIG PUSH that is sometimes missing here (see "complacency", "getting in a rut", staying in the "comfort zone" - all applicable)

You see these people are quite content to function at 80% capacity, whereas in fact they can easily take 20% more stress for short periods.

But they’d prefer to be a little more relaxed and comfortable in life. They often have a philosophical, ideological, dreamy, imaginative and "spiritual" view of life. Things are important to them, but not worth getting “all flustered about!"

And is there anything wrong with this? Well, no, but it means they also never quite hit the heights of their potential while they're in this zone. They get far, but not as far as they possibly can.

With some in this zone they will seek something that’s just out of reach, others will just  be too unsure of themselves about taking that next step up. This is what holds them back.

They also have a tendency to hold their true emotions in, for fear of upsetting the apple-cart. They want peace, they want everyone to get along, but sometimes they don’t achieve it the right way. Sometimes they do it by suppressing their own feelings instead of standing up and expressing how they really feel.

Often this is a habit built up in childhood or personal relationships where they were not allowed or encouraged to complain, or perhaps they tried but were not listened to or heeded.

The unfortunate outcome of this zone is resentment and deeply absorbed anger. It generally takes a lot of time for people in this zone to blow a fuse, but when they do it’s always explosive! They are like a spring slowly loading…and then once in a while they explode with emotion unless they learn to express things a bit more regularly.

For those in this zone that do express themselves regularly they can do with composure, respect and methodology because of their calm  mind-set.

They make fantastic listeners, great creators, orators, and go far on the spiritual path. They are hardly any trouble to anyone and if they get into a groove they’re happy with, they can be hard-working, loyal and eventually exceptional at something for years.

Suggestion:

Your best asset is your worst enemy, patience. It leads you to long periods of deliberation, over-thinking things, questioning, and that often takes the fire out of a moment and leads you to not “striking while the iron’s hot”.

Don’t fear putting yourself under pressure, or additional stress, you can handle it way better than you think. Learn to push the boat out a little further and chase your dreams with more vigour.

You are naturally endowed with calmness, serenity and composure and more than any other zone, you guys have the strongest resources for applying peace into human life. Be a little more confrontational where it matters (not where it does not!), take a risk here and there, and most of all dare to dream, open that throttle, hit those speeds, and take to the skies!
